I have been practicing law in Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo since 1995. One of the main personal benefits of my practice is that I truly enjoy the people with whom I work. My assistant, Trinity Walker, is highly qualified and a cracker jack at solving problems. Even better, she laughs at my jokes. Maintaining good relations with my fellow attorneys in the local bar association and the judges and court staff that I appear before regularly is important and a priority for me. These good relationships increase my responsiveness and effectiveness, and help me to achieve better results for my clients.
I enjoy the practice of law, but I love my family. Thankfully, my office in Poulsbo is but a few stop signs from our home near Lions Park. This means I can spend more time with my wife, Nicki, and our daughters, Peyton and Liliana, instead of sitting for several hours a week in my car or on the ferry. My use of technology allows me to be flexible for my family and client needs, remaining mobile while not out of reach.
Provided my body cooperates, I play basketball year-round, and enjoy golf and tennis on vacations. Nicki and I have established a tradition of annual summer trips with our girls to Kanakuk in southern Missouri. Here in the Northwest, we take in several days of skiing and camping each year. Our favorite campsite is at Salt Creek outside of Port Angeles - be sure to bundle up if the winds are coming off of the Strait of San Juan de Fuca.
I'm a Missouri Tiger, having graduated from the University of Missouri, with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1992 and my J.D. in 1995. I'm often asked how I ended up in Poulsbo. It's a long story, but for starters, check the heat index in Missouri in August and the wind chill factor in February.
I'm honored to be a community board member for the Seattle Christian Foundation, and a board member for the Kitsap County Medical Society Foundation. On both of these foundation boards, I'm surrounded by terrific people who are motivated to make differences in our communities. I have the wonderful opportunity to participate in the progress and experience the impact that these community foundations are making.
